Cool Cables

Battery cables can be one of those things we don’t give much thought to until something goes wrong and you’re left with the bitter realization that not all battery cables are created equal. Thankfully, the folks at Ron Francis Wiring have done the research and created the ultimate battery cable set. Their new underhood cross-link 1-gauge cables have a temperature rating of 255°F (underhood temperatures vary from 212°F to 240°F). They offer more current carrying capacity and less voltage drop, making them far superior to typical auto parts store or welding cables. Their high-grade lugs stay round longer, ensuring a tight seal and corrosion resistance. The kit comes in top post (part number TP-6) or side post (part number SP-6) and includes 6 feet of color-coded positive and negative cables (longer kits for trunk mount also available). Each cable includes matching rubber boots for added protection and a more finished look. All kits also come complete with a crimping tool, extra lugs, and heat shrink tubing. Small-Job Blasting Systems

Eastwood’s small-job soda and abrasive blasting kits offer the benefits of a large blast system at a fraction of the cost. The DIY novice can quickly remove rust and coatings down to clean bare metal in a fraction of the time it would take with other methods. The small-job blasting kits work with small home compressors (7 cfm at 80 psi) and with Eastwood’s soda or abrasive media. Remove paint and other coatings from delicate surfaces without harm by using the small-job soda blaster kit. Eastwood’s abrasive crushed glass is used with the small job blaster to remove heavy rust, filler, paint and grime quickly and cost-effectively. Blast at any angle. The suction head draws the media into the airstream to minimize surging or skipping and accelerates the media at the part.
