I then placed a degree wheel on the top of the motor, checking it for level.
Then I placed the same degree wheel on the end of the transmission tail shaft
and lowered the transmission until I reached -2 degrees. Since Hurst Driveline
Conversions does not make a transmission mount for my ’55-59 Chevy truck, I
had to make my own. I picked up a universal transmission mount from Classic
Performance Products and trimmed the metal CPP transmission mount to fi t the
transmission. The key is to keep the alignment of the transmission to the rear end.
