Since I’ve learned the hard way in the past, I made sure to read through the Lokar instruction booklet first, rather than waiting until I ran into a problem. And then I actually followed ’em! Who says ya can’t teach an old dog new tricks? Since step 1 involved disassembly of the old shifter etc, I did skip that one. Step 2 had me assembling the main mounting plate. As you can see, there are two threaded holes on the top surface of the plate. The plate is situated so the threaded hole nearest to the plate edge goes toward the front of the trans (toward the engine).
