The series of tack welds is going to have some porosity. To keep moisture from getting inside the weld line, we coat the welds with a generous helping of POR15, working it into the welds and the seam between the floorpan and the toeboard. If this was an exterior panel, we’d use lead body soldier, as it will melt down into the seam and seal it the same way, whereas plastic filler sits on top of the seam and won’t seal the porosity between the panels. After the paint dries, we applied seam sealer to the joint at the toeboard, as per original.
