While Barnes held the dash in place I used a MIG welder to tack the edges. I moved from one end to the other, making sure I left plenty of time for the welds to cool before I moved on. This process took several hours with about two hours of cool time in-between. I also used the metal cutters to snip the end of the welding wire before each and every tack. This helps the welder from jumping from the previous weld that left a ball on the end of the wire.
