We all know most OEM Flathead Ford parts are getting harder to come by. Luckily, Dennis Carpenter Reproductions has tooled up '37-48 V-8 Flathead water pumps that are now for sale. These water pumps feature new cast pump housings, double-row sealed ball bearings, and ceramic seals, which reduces the possibility of leakage and extends the life of the pump. There is also a new helical impeller design that increases the coolant flow rate, allowing the engine to run cooler than the stock water pump. The guys over at Mike's Garage in Yorba Linda, California, have been putting together a '52 Chevy pickup. Mike was not impressed with the stock taillight brackets, so he designed and is now producing his own that keep the stock appearance, but mount behind the stake pocket using the existing mounting holes. The new brackets lower the taillight and bring it in closer to the bed. The complete set includes the brackets, two right-side taillight assemblies, and two stainless steel wire covers. With this conversion, there is no longer a provision for the license plate, so it should be mounted in the center like '54 models, which also requires using a '54 bumper. For questions, or to order, contact Mike's Garage at 714-269-1637.
