Power Window Glass & Wiring Install - Powering The Modernized Relics

Before installing the glass into the door, apply some white lithium in the sash's roller channel. Even though the nylon rollers are mounted on a "floating" frame, they will still benefit from having a lubricated track to roll on.

Very carefully set the window assembly in-between the felt and lower into place so that it can be attached to the regulator. Another set of hands wouldn't hurt, but a block of wood can be used to prop the glass up while the hardware is installed.

If you recall, the main horizontal door brace was notched for the new window regulator--when buttoning up the wiring from the switch to the motor, a metal strap was made to fill the gap and re-strengthen the support.

Also, the smaller upper brace was notched as shown in order to keep the cable housing from interfering with the window when raised or lowered. This didn't have a structural affect on the brace itself.

While the operation of the power window kit had been a success up to this point, it had yet to be tested with the door panel re-attached. But once everything was double-checked and buttoned up, the winning track record continued--not a single problem.
