Next, remove the pinion shaft retaining bolt, followed by the pinion shaft, and then the C-clip on the end of each axle. Be careful not to round off or break the pinion shaft retaining bolt that's probably had some sort of thread-locking fluid used on it; if it breaks, there's a 50/50 chance of getting it out without irreparable damage to the carrier. If everything goes well, the main caps can come out, and so can the carrier. View Related Article
