Talk about night and day! The new Professional Products Real Chrome manifold blinded me while taking these pictures, and the Barry Grant Speed Demon carb looks at home on top of all that shiny stuff. We also got a Barry Grant fuel line kit (#140020) to speed up and simplify the installation even more.

Old Carb
Here's the old gray mare in all its restricted glory as we embark on another adventure in our pursuit of reliability. Aside from disconnecting the battery, drain the radiator enough so that the coolant level is below the intake manifold. You won't need to drain more than this unless you're going to relocate a temperature sending unit from the side of a cylinder head to one of the available spots on the new intake.

Dismantle everything on top of the motor that's hooked to the carb and intake, including throttle cables or brackets, the alternator, and coolant hoses.
