Hey all, New to this forum and need some advice. I am restoring a 1955 F100 and need a RH front fender. I am looking to buy a fender from other than the usual places. Can anyone point me to a website or individual that can provide me the best fit? I would rather use US steel. Do the original OEM fender stamps still exist, and if so who's using them? I have looked on LMC, Sacramento Vintage, Bobs, but was told the fenders can vary by manufacturer. I am trying to limit any modifications to new parts. Any thoughts? Regards, Brian

I have a 57 short-bed. I almost bought a spare tire bracket from Craigslist, but noticed it was on a long-bed and did not have a strut that goes through the fender (totally mounted in front of the fender). Please confirm that the bracket for the short-bed is different from the long-bed? Is there more than one version of a fender with the hole for the spare tire strut for the '57? The model I need also has two struts that that mount on top of the side rail of the P/U body and a brace that fits between the fender and P/U body for added strength. The brackets are hard to find. Does anyone have one for sale? Thanks, George

Hi All - I am so out of my element. My poor nephew is trying so hard to pick him self up and get on with life. We recently had him move in with us and his Grandfather gave him his old truck. Well he called me to pick him up because the Fire Department had just put out a fire in his car. It doesn't really look all that bad. On a visual it looks like the fire stemmed from the carburetor, and it melted the distributor and cap as well as the spark plug wires, and other wires in area. My question is what damage should we really be looking for, and is it even worth it? Any input would be greatly appreciated as I am trying to come up with a parts list to see if it's financially worth it. Jamie

I just bought a 64 short bed panel truck. The truck is an unmolested original with about 40% original paint. My question is the original paint is pink/salmon colored. Any ideas on why? Pink isn't a factory color; special order???

Hello, my name is Stephen and this truck has been at a local scrapyard since it was new, it has been sitting for about 10-13 years I think. I've known it was there but I keep putting off posting about it. Anyway, I was unloading some metal today and with the permission of the yard owner, I snapped some other photos of it in addition to the ones I already had. The owner refuses to scrap the truck and I think I was told he still has the original window sticker for it in the office. He wants to either sell it or restore it. I think it would be neat if somebody got ahold of it and made a flat bed out of it and hauled some classic cars with it. Condition wise, aside from an obvious mechanical restoration being needed, it is missing one marker light lense and the front fenders need a lot of TLC or even replaced. It is otherwise all there. Saw some nice old trucks at a show in Frederick, Md. They were about 15 real nice pick ups and about 20 tractor trailer type that were really cool. Anyone know of any truck specific shows or parts sales coming up that are in the Maryland area????

Anyone going to this show in Pigeon Forge ? I am planning to attend but have had some reservations as attempts to pull up the website gets a " code 404 - website not found " response ! I know this show has been connected (in the past ) to the now closed Grand Hotel . My main concern is whether the show will go on as scheduled ? Someone told me it will be sponsored by the Smokey Mountain Opry House but will be held at the new Pigeon Forge Municipal parking lot ? Can anyone confirm this or provide any additional information ? I'd hate to go only to find out the show is canceled or... well , I can't afford to spend that much money unless I can be assured the show is still on . Any help will be appreciated !

do you have a title???? or a bill of sale from the property owner where it was sitting??? are there any ID numbers on the cab.. inside the glove box door on the door jam.... or top of the frame rails in the engine compartment... if you don't have proper paperwork... you will also want to download your states vehicle code on car and truck registrations... so you know exactly what you need to accomplish.. don't forget... with cars and trucks... there are 2 different types of ownership.. you can apply for title and registration... so you could drive the car or truck legally.. or you can apply for TITLE ONLY.. so you are the OWNER.. but it is not registered to drive on the street .. there are also requirements for farm vehicles and off road vehicles.. if you get the fargo put back together... in the back window.. are you going to have a little cutout of a wood chipper??? if you don't understand... i guess you did not see the movie "fargo".. if you did.. well. then you enjoyed the joke.. i don't recall the name of the dealership in that movie.. but perhaps a license plate frame from that dealer... only a few people would catch it...

pinch off the fuel line into the fuel pump... use some needle nose vice grips.. or hold them... attempt to start the car.. .. you will have to have your foot to the floor... get it running at about 2500 to 3000 rpms... keep it steady there... when it starts to die... release the pliers... so some fuel flows into the carb... then pinch off the fuel line again.. until it starts to die again... this allows the float to drop and the needle and seat to open fully.. the inrush of fuel thru it will usually clean the needle and seat out... you could have debris in the needle and seat.. i have more... but this is the way i quickly fix them... sometimes it takes 3 or 4 times...

I started up the 67-327-2 barrel and it was running fine. Just letting it warm up and then it started running rough. Got out and opened the hood to see gas just pouring out of the top of the carburetor and down onto the manifold. It was flowing down like a waterfall. I turned it off and soaked it all up with towels. What the heck was that? Should I try to rebuild the carb or just buy a new one?

Just bought a 57 chevy 3200 series truck (Long Bed). It has a rear end from a 1983 chevy truck 1500 (4 wheel Drive-6 Stud). Does anyone know what the pinion angle should be set at. The previous owner didnt set it correctly. I am assuming I shouldn't adjust the carrier bearing. Truck has original 4 speed transmission (Granny Gear). Thanks

I know of several places to pick up parts for Ford/Chevy, but I haven't been able to find one for Dodge. Ideally I'd like to keep the outside with the same look so I'm not too interested in body parts at this time. I'd like to "modernize" everything under the car so that it can be used as a daily driver.
