Tomorrow is Pearl Harbor Day, and If there ever was a story about a nation getting sucker-punched big time it’s about the events that took place on December 7, 1941in the Hawaiian Islands. Just ask Donald Stratton, Gunners Mate Second Class. USN Ret. U.S.S. Arizona BB39. On second thought since we’re a classic truck magazine maybe we should ask Donald about his trusty 1965 Chevy C10 he bought secondhand off a used car lot in Santa Barbara, California. The year was 1971 and after Donald left the service he continued to work as a diver. The gear Donald had to haul around weighed over 150-pounds, and it was usually soaking wet with salt water, not something you’d want to throw in the trunk of a car. Donald bought the baby blue and white small-window C10, and he’s kept it tip-top shape ever since. We learned about Donald Stratton and his ’65 Chevy C10 from our friends at LMC Truck in Lenexa, Kansas, when they forwarded a tribute they posted on LMC Truck Life.
