Poundin' The Keys
It’s often said that we magazine guys have the best job in the world, and without trying to rub it in, we totally agree!
Over the last weeks us guys have not only worked to put together yet another great issue of CLASSIC TRUCKS but we’ve also hustled and produced (in conjunction with our friends from LMC Truck) a special newsstand-only magazine, American Truck. If you missed last year’s issue of AT you’ve got to check out the 2011 issue that’s on the newsstand now. AT is a great mixture of in-depth usable tech and how-to articles, and some way-cool feature trucks that one may not see in our monthly magazine. AT allows us to share with you a mix of not only early classics, but a bunch of nice later-model pickups as well! And since these post-classic pickups are destined to become the classic trucks of the future we figured we’d take advantage of the opportunity and give you a preview of the cool trucks the future holds. Above and beyond that, AT allows us to showcase LMC Truck’s huge late-model pickup parts and accessories, too!
So if you’d like yet another modified truck fix while you’re waiting for the next issue of your favorite classic truck magazine, I hope you’ll swing by the newsstand and grab a copy of American Truck--all of us guys who put it together are sure you’ll enjoy it!
More Than a Magazine
I s print media dead or dying? That’s a question that I keep hearing. I say that it is neither dead nor dying. I will always have a thing for a magazine I can hold in my hand. I want to be able to show my friends and family who are not computer savvy (and never plan to be) work that I have created or other people’s work that I find interesting.
With that said I still believe that there is a huge opportunity to spread the word via the Internet and social media sites such as www.classictrucks.com and our Facebook page. The ability to contact thousands of our fellow gearheads by simply typing a question on our CLASSIC TRUCKS Facebook wall is something that we cannot ignore. We have been neglecting it in the past, and with the new year, we’re turning over a new leaf. With the new age where anyone can create digital media we invite you to take a look at what we will be doing in the months to come. On the web forum on Classictrucks.com I have added a monthly contest in which the winner gets a prize package from us and several of our vendors. With this being the end of January as I’m writing this, the first contest is going well, but could definitely use some more contributors. The more people who enter the contest the bigger the package we can give away. We also have huge plans in the works to get our website more user friendly and easier on the eyes. So hopefully you will join in by adding us to your Facebook friends and contributing to our Classictrucks.com forum. CT
