PPG Automotive Refinish announces the Hot Wheels(r) Spectraflame(r) Paint Your Ride Contest. Custom painters, car builders, and hot rod enthusiasts are encouraged to enter their vehicles by creating a paint scheme using any of the 12 vibrant colors from the Hot Wheels Spectraflame paint line, a co-branded line featuring the colors found on the popular Hot Wheels line of die-cast toy vehicles from Mattel, Inc.
The grand prize winner will be selected from 12 finalists and will be awarded an exclusive Hot Wheels 1/18-inch scale model award trophy featuring their winning paint scheme, and will be invited as a PPG guest to bring their vehicle to the 2008 SEMA (Specialty Equipment Market Association) show in Las Vegas to be featured in the PPG booth. The winning paint scheme will also be considered for use in production of a selected Hot Wheels toy car to be introduced in 2009, manufactured and distributed by Mattel, Inc. In addition, the winning vehicle will be featured on a 2009 PPG calendar along with other finalists.
Contestants must complete a Paint Your Ride entry form available at the PPG booth at Goodguys and NSRA events where PPG exhibits. Contestants must submit a minimum of two photos of their vehicle, proof of use of PPG products, and a short description of the entry vehicle and paint scheme, along with the entry form. The paint scheme must be created using PPG products utilizing Hot Wheels Spectraflame colors for at least 25 percent of the paint job. Entries must be postmarked by 11:59 p.m., April 30, 2008.

Prestolite Acquires Mr. Gasket
Mr. Gasket, Inc. and Prestolite Wire Corporation recently announced recently that Prestolite has agreed to acquire substantially all the assets and business of Mr. Gasket. Mr. Gasket will become a division of Prestolite and will continue to operate the entire Mr. Gasket family of high-performance and racing brands. Dennis Rogers will continue in his role as Executive Vice President of Mr. Gasket. Bob Romanelli, President of Mr. Gasket, will continue to advise the company on strategic initiatives. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. "Mr. Gasket is an excellent strategic fit and a logical step in the continued growth and development of our automotive aftermarket business," said Greg Ulewicz, President of Prestolite. "Mr. Gasket's well-recognized high-performance and racing brands will be a tremendous asset to Prestolite's aftermarket portfolio."
