Along with his monthly contributions via Professor Hammer, Ron Covell also gives car builders in-depth coverage of welding and metalworking techniques through his line of instructional DVDs. His latest, TIG Welding Basics, illustrates proper material preparation, machine setup, electrode and filler rod selection, and the specific techniques used to weld steel, aluminum, stainless, bronze, and copper. Perhaps most importantly, he shows exactly what to check for when things go wrong! This 80-minute program is exceptionally clear and easy to follow, even for beginners. Rolling Road House
n past years, the Rolling Roadshow has been like going to the Field of Dreams in Iowa with Kevin Costner live in person, Devil's Tower in Wyoming for a screening of Close Encounters, and Alcatraz Island for a screening of Escape From Alcatraz. 2007 marks the occasion of the third annual Rolling Roadshow Tour, which will cover a route of 9,000 miles in 28 days with 11 screenings. "The Rolling Roadshow Tour is not simply a series of outdoor movie screenings," says Alamo Drafthouse Cinema founder Tim League. "The tour is the culmination of everything we have worked toward at the Alamo Drafthouse cinema: fantastic cinema happenings with celebrity guests, wacky tie-ins, contests, scavenger hunts, and the thrill of watching your favorite movies in the exact locations in which they were filmed."
"Tell your boss now that you're feeling like you might be under the weather July 18 through August 15," says Roadshow co-founder Karrie League, "because we want to see you out with us on the 2007 Rolling Roadshow Tour caravan!" The entire schedule along with details, directions, associated events, and celebrity guests is posted on the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema's Rolling Roadshow Web site, www.rollingroadshow.com. Every screening will also feature an afterparty sponsored by Dewar's White Label Scotch. The Web site also has links to the stops on the 2005 and 2006 Rolling Roadshow Tour, complete with photos of each screening and a full description of the event and related activities.
