1969 Chevrolet C10
Classic Trucks subscriber Mike Thompson thought he'd send us some pictures and tell us a bit about his 1969 C10. He's the second owner and has been driving and wrenching on this treasure for 40 years! The truck still uses its original engine, rebuilt once in 1986 when it was bored .030 over, and balanced and blueprinted. Since then he's added an Edelbrock Power Package kit, including a roller cam and a 650-cfm Edelbrock carb. He's also topped it off with MSD ignition and Hedman headers.
According to Mike his old-timer really gets up and scoots. Mike also sent a long a little poem written by a friend, L. Gorman, which goes like this: "Young men dream of reaching the stars, exploring the surface of Mercury and Mars. Every man loves his family and home, yet yearns to discover the forbidden and unknown. Every man's fancy will always be, those wings and wheels that set him free."
Mike's pickup is a good-looking ride, and since it's the first Classic Cruisers submission I've ever received containing poetry I couldn't pass up sharing it.
