Grant & Rich Anderson

1957 GMC

Rich Anderson shared a few images with us of this way-cool ’57 GMC that’s been a project with his son, Grant. The pair say the pickup is still a work in progress. They handled the engine (a stout, .040-over small-block Chevy) and electrical systems themselves, but had a bit of help from the guys at nearby Fugs Body Shop who handled the body work and fresh white paint. Rich says he and Grant are still working on the bed but have finished the cab forward so far. Among the upgrades the GMC has benefitted from are a fresh TH350 trans, a ’79 Z28 subframe, power disc brakes, a 10-bolt rearend, and a quartet of polished Torque Thrusts to name a few. Rich said working hand in hand with Grant has been a great experience, and the pickup has been a mainstay at all of Grant’s high school football games and was even used in his team’s group photo.
