A few weeks ago, Mark Hunsbedt was reading the November issue of CLASSIC TRUCKS and saw the editorial mention of how we go about picking trucks for inclusion in CT.
So, he thought he’d give it a shot and send us a few pic’s and a bit of info on his pickup. Mark’s pride and joy is a ’60 Ford F-100 long bed with a 292 Y-block motor. The truck was originally his dad’s and has been in the family for about 40-plus years. It was used as a construction/work truck in Santa Cruz County, CA, for years and has hauled countless tons of building materials and tools that helped build two of his family’s homes. The truck had worked its whole life, but not long ago Mark decided it was time to show it off after completing a frame up resto. Though hot rodding the F-100 was tempting, he finally decided to keep it all original—with the exception of the wheels, tires, and bit of lowering. Mark said he read a CLASSIC TRUCKS how-to article a few years ago on a similar project ’60 Ford F-100 shortbed that the magazine was doing and it inspired him to get working on his.
Great job Mark, thanks a bunch for sharing! CT
