Recently Judd Hubbell sent along some pics of his way-cool '65 C10. This truck has been a part of the Hubbell family since it was bought new in 1964 by Judd's uncle, Dalton Moore. Judd says the story behind it is that just prior to Dalton's father's death, he wanted him to buy a truck that Dalton's mother could drive while working the family peach orchard.
It was for this reason the truck Judd's uncle purchased was equipped with a 230-cid Stovebolt backed by a Powerglide automatic transmission. After years of use in and around the orchard and after Judd's uncle Dalton died his aunt Marie asked Judd if he wanted "that old truck in the barn." Without thinking twice he said, "Yes!" When he got his hands on the '65 it had 36,000 original miles, and he's since put on about 5,000 additional miles. As he was driving it, he's added 3-inch drop spindles and a half coil cut from each coil spring in front. He also treated the rear suspension to a set of 4-inch dropped springs with 1-inch lowering blocks. The motor is still all factory with the exception of a PerTronix Flame-Thrower ignition and Blaster coil.
