Tom Shaughnessy thought we'd enjoy seeing a few pics of his recently finished '56 Ford F-100. There's quite a bit of history between Tom and his F-100. He first purchased the truck in stock form years ago (1977) at the ripe old age of 14. It was powered by an inline-six backed by a three-speed trans. By '79 Tom had massaged it into road-ready condition and even treated it to a new blue paintjob. Soon after he managed to get his driver's license and both he and the pickup were ready to go. Tom drove the F-100 all through high school, but near the end finally sold it to help finance a college education. A few years later he ran across the truck and was lucky enough to buy it back. By that time it'd been modified and was equipped with a Camaro front stub and a small-block Chevy. Tom, again, drove the pickup regularly, and for the next 20 years it was his hot rod F-100. About three years ago Tom decided it was about time to go through the ol' pickup and finally upgrade it to his taste. He ended up tearing the truck down to a bare frame and proceeded to replace or rebuild everything and anything that needed it. After he was finished (he'd done it all in his home shop) he was ready for the final stage-fresh new paint and a spruced-up interior. Tom enlisted a bit of help in these respects and his fresh, new, Absolutely Red '56 hit the road again in April '10.
