Sixteen-year-old Beau Mauldin's father bought his '53 Chevy truck back in 1987 and did some minor things to it like replacing the straight-six with a 305 and giving it some new paint. Unfortunately he sold it to a friend in 1997 to buy a '73 Vette. Well, in 2006 Beau and his father were out back roading near their home in Texas when they saw his dad's old '53 Chevy sitting beside a friend's house. Luckily Beau's dad talked his friend into selling it back to him.

Since then, father and son Mauldin have spent lots of time together turning the truck into a cool budget-built hauler. Beau even gets to drive it to high school and is known around there as "The Truck Guy." Beau says working with his dad has been a pleasure and a memory he'll never forget, and hopes this can inspire other father and sons to go out and build something as well!
