This month's Classic Cruiser is from Bill Vaughn of Jackson, Michigan. He recently finished up his '39 Chevy truck that started out as a true basket case four years ago.

Bill tore the truck apart and installed a Mustang II IFS from Total Cost Involved (TCI), and a Chevy 10-bolt rearend into the chassis. Next, he located a Chevy small-block 350 and Turbo 350 trans and rebuilt both of them for the truck. He topped the engine off with an Edelbrock Air-Gap intake and Performer carb. After preassembling the whole truck, which included parts from ididit, Lokar, and Walker, he took it apart again to spray three coats of yellow paint followed by five clearcoats. Bill even wet sanded the clearcoat all the way up to 2000-grit and then buffed the paint out for a smooth-as-glass finish. Once the truck was back together, he bought a set of classic Cragar S/S wheels to finish things off.
