Can't Dodge This BulletBill Bishop of Huntington Station, New York, sent us these pictures of his '40 Dodge 1/2-ton job-rated VC Series truck. Built back in the heyday of streamline design that bled into the industrial market, which begun to produce Rocketeer-like locomotives, even Dodge trucks were no exception, with their new sloped V-windshields, rounded grilles, and "go-fast" ribs in the fenders. Bill's '40 has its stock 201ci L-head six-cylinder and stick trans that was gone through during its four-year restoration. Bill did the body and paintwork himself, and also installed a new gas tank, wiring harness, and interior. His local welding shop bent up the 3/16-inch steel for the bumpers, and Bill finished off the ends that now have a nice curve to them. Bill loves taking the Dodge to local cruises because it's always sure to stir up quite a few questions and thumbs. In fact, Bill likes it so much he wouldn't trade it for his son's brand-new Dodge truck!
