Norman Evans of Elwood, Nebraska, hoped he wasn't coming off as bragging to us when he sent in his '53 Ford to be featured as a Classic Cruiser. On the contrary, Norman! We're glad that you obviously have taken great pride in your 2 1/2-year project. Norman's first-year F-100 still breathes true-blue under the tilt hood through the use of a 302 Ford small-block and C4 trans that chirps the 17-inch polished Americans. Inside the ghost-flamed Effie, things get even better with A/C, a Dakota Digital dash, power steering, and a trouble-free keyless remote system. On the outside, we find LED turn signal mirrors, roll pans fore and aft, and a third brake light that's integrated into the back of the cab that flips people's lids at the local cruises. Norman goes on to tell us that he cut some great cedar wood from his family farm and churned out a number of smooth planks for the bed floor and also whittled down a few smaller pieces to use for a number of interior accents to really church things up. We say Norman now officially has every right to toot his own horn and to be proud of the numerous trophies his '53 has hauled home!
