According to Harvey Beers of Allentown, Pennsylvania, 1938 was a disastrous year for Dodge truck sales, as registrations plummeted 47 percent that year. There were seven models of the RC Series trucks produced with about 1,300 sold of each model for about $600. It was the last year for the Dodge Brothers. The rarity of the truck seemed as good a reason as any for Harvey to pursue his first classic truck project. He started by installing a Dodge 440 Six Pack with a 727 automatic transmission, and a narrowed Dodge 8 3/4 rear with 3.91:1 gears. The front and rear suspension is Troyer, as used on the Featherlight Modified race cars. Inside is equipped with A/C and power everything. Harvey designed and built the truck himself, and was quick to point out that his wife was a big help making sure all the colors worked well together.
