Steve Green was a big fan of '67-72 Chevy and GMC trucks for as long as he could remember. A few years ago, he and his wife Shelly decided to begin the search for the right short wheelbase C10 from the year he was born-1969. After a year of searching, the Texas native found a daily-driver in Nevada and drove it as is for a few months before he and his father-in-law, John Jones, installed a Corvette TPI engine backed by a 700-R4. Next was a 4/6-drop acquired from Early Classic Enterprises and a set of 20-inch Stingrays from Boyd Coddington. Next, the interior was freshened up with stock replacement items-including a houndstooth seat cover. The billet grille, steel cowl hood, and tonneau cover came from the family business, Custom Vans of Houston. After shaving a few key items, Steve left the painting chores to famed truck painter Pat Maxwell of Maxwell Designs in Spring, Texas. The copper and white two-tone scheme is highlighted with House of Kolor flames with painted chrome accents. Steve and Shelley now drive and enjoy the truck every chance they get and recently even took home a CLASSIC TRUCKS Top 10 award at Goodguys Fort Worth.

"This truck was a dream that never had the chance to be completed. In memory of my brother, this dream has now been fulfilled. Steven James Mark, 1963-1987." This plaque on Bruce Mark's dash says it all. It took a while, but Bruce finished the '65 GMC he once handed down to his little brother and managed to follow through with all of the trick ideas that Steven began. This includes the hydraulic-tilt frontend, the 1 horsepower per inch small-block, T-10 four-speed, '70s Chevy suspension, and miles-deep black paint with 24-carat gold trim.
