The Boyd Coddington wheels (17x8s with 235/45 and 245/45 rubber) are tucked deep into the fenders thanks to a 'bagged Mustang II front suspension and 'bagged rear. Tan leather keeps Carlos wrapped in luxury inside the cab and earned him the Best Interior '47-54 award. |
If your classic truck tastes lean towards the pre-'73 Chevy and GMC variety and you're ever in SoCal while Brothers is putting on their Chevrolet & GMC Truck Show & Shine (around July), then it would be in your best interest to make the pilgrimage to check out some of the best examples of these marques.
For the last couple of years, the show has been held at picturesque Featherly Park in Anaheim Hills. You'd have a hard time finding a better place to spend a day relaxing and looking at some great trucks. The trucks are intertwined amongst the trees, which beats standing around on hot asphalt any day.
If it's topless cruisin' you're... If it's topless cruisin' you're looking for, you'd have a hard time finding a better truck to do it in than an early Blazer. Jesse Ceniceros brought out his '72 (with a '68 front clip) rolling on 17-inch Torque Thrusts with 255/50 and 275/50 tires. He's got a few more things to finish, but the weather was too nice to leave it at home. | Derek Meacham brought out... Derek Meacham brought out his recently finished family-hauling '59 Suburban. A 330hp crate 350 backed by a 700-R4 moves the big rig down the road while a Mustang II IFS and 17-inch Intros with tall 60-series rubber smooth out the bumps. | Talk about the perfect daily-driver,... John Fernandez brightened his '69 up by squirting it in yellow and slapped on some late-model wheels. | Take one '56 Chevy, paint... Take one '56 Chevy, paint it red, and get the stance right and you'll end up with a winning combination every time. Buzz Nichol did just that, and he couldn't be happier. | Doug Barnett wowed the crowd... Doug Barnett wowed the crowd and the judges with his screaming yellow '57 and drove away with the Best In Show award. The Chevy features a sculptured tan leather interior with a DVD/stereo system that rivals most home systems (good enough to win the Best Audio award as well)... |

Scott Mumford motored down from Simi Valley in his Pro-Street '58 Fleetside and picked up the Brothers' Pick award. The truck has been the subject of continual upgrades and Scott hopes to replace the rally wheels with some big-inch rollers sometime in the near future. | Entertainment is always one... Of course Brothers had a large vending area set-up to provide anyone who needed that final part to complete their restoration an opportunity to grab it and see it firsthand. | With the cost of new Suburbans... With the cost of new Suburbans going through the roof, it makes sense to do what Mark Scheurer did by updating his '72 GMC. A Ram Jet 350 and 700-R4 gets the 'Burb moving. The passengers are treated to seating from a '00 Chevy truck that has been integrated so well that the truck won the Best Interior '67-72 award. | Subtle would be the best way... Subtle would be the best way to describe Elvin and Charli Miali's '52 Chevy. Pro Design helped assemble the two-tone cruiser that appears stock but is far from it underneath. |
