The most worn-out, overused, cornball title there ever was for a truck feature is "It's a Family Affair." It's not hard to tell who the FNG is at a truck magazine, the newbie is going to pop for using that title every time. That said, I don't think anyone has ever titled a classic truck event as a family affair, so I'm going to use the heading to describe one of my favorite events.

It takes place early every October, at Rene “The C10 King” Martinez's spread in Atwater, California, and is hosted by the Central Valley chapter of the C10 Club. For folks who live outside of California might guess that either Southern or Northern California is where the hotbed is for classic truck action, but they'd be wrong, it's in the Central Valley. It only makes sense, California's Central Valley is at the heart of the state's agricultural region, and the area has been relying on pickup trucks since the turn of the 20th century.

For more information about next year's C10 Get-Together, keep an eye posted on 67-72ChevyTrucks.com. In fact, if you have one bone in your body that has a hankering for anything about Chevy or GMC trucks, you'll be glad you checked the site out. Oh, and I guess I should mention the vibes at the C10 Get-Together are more like a family reunion than whatever that song by Sly and the Family Stone was about.
