The Daytona Turkey Run every fall is a legendary event with enthusiasts arriving from around the country and even around the world. It is one of the largest participant-based auto shows in the country, combining a custom car show, car corral, and swap meet.

Following the same great format of the November Turkey Run is the spring show, now in its 24th year and renamed the Daytona Spring Turkey Run. Although it doesn’t draw quite the same crowd as the fall event, the spring show is still one of the biggest early shows of the year. The collection of custom vehicles displayed on the infield at the Daytona International Speedway will thrill any automotive enthusiast, but that’s just part of the attraction.

Pick up anything from a T-shirt to a crate motor from the hundreds of vendors at the event or find an entirely new ride in the car corral. Enjoy some racing nostalgia at the Blue Garage where vintage race cars were on display at the Living Legends of Auto Racing or check out the latest technological advances at Larsen Motorsports and chat with Elaine Larson about her 2013 jet dragster. Music trivia throughout the day, great food from dozens of vendors, and door prizes Saturday afternoon added to the fun. The highlight of the event for many was the opportunity to take a pace lap around the Daytona International Speedway before wrapping up the event on Sunday. If you’d like to be part of this great March show or the original November event held over the Thanksgiving Weekend, get the details at www.turkeyrun.com. In the meantime, take a look at some of the great rides we saw at the event.
