This year the grand daddy of all shows turned 63 years old and all we can say is, WOW, what a blast! The show is not only a gathering for Hot Rodders but rather it’s where gearheads unite to view and show of their latest builds. The cool part about this event is that it’s so massive in size, everywhere you look there is classic cars, trucks, motorcycles and low riders.

Held in the beautiful Pomona Fairplex January 27-29, Grand National Roaster Show kicks off the show season with a bang. The show was separated into buildings 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 where different build styles and sub cultures mingle. The main hall gathers some of the top builders in the country and the best of the best quality of cars and trucks are in and around this building. When you walk into the hall, right away you get overwhelmed with quality fit and finish. The other huge indoor buildings hold groups of vehicles like the 32 deuce or the suede palace that actually had some really top-notch cars in it this year. Taking a break from the main buildings outside, the streets were filled with custom cars and trucks that were anywhere from project vehicles, daily drivers to custom builders who wanted to be outside in the sun. As lunchtime was getting ready to happen the smell of sweet BBQ sauce was in the air along with a plethora of other cooked foods. Making my way back inside, an auction was taking place for freshly painted and pinstriped art. The sale of the artwork was donated to nearby charities. Every year the GNRS gets bigger and better and this year show attendants can attest to that. I cant wait to check out the 2013 show. CT
