2008 Goodguys Lone Star Nationals - Goodguys 16th Lone Star Nats

Last year we caught Michael Taylor in a sweet copper suede Task Force Stepside--this year he not only changed up his color palette quite a few hues, he moved up to the C-10 class. His big-block-equipped '68 Fleetside was equally as nice as his previous effort, needless to say.

Dennis Ireland headed down south to Texas via Oskaloosa, IA, behind the reins of his five-spoke-clad '53 F-100.

If I let someone borrow my El Camino, you wouldn't catch me throwin' a quick detail on it--while they were still borrowing it! But that's Vintage Air's Rick Love for you--as his last name might suggest, he is one nice feller!

This '40 Chevy spiked curious interest for many reasons, but more than anything, the shape of the cab--apparently it's been enlarged into what owner Lowen Johnson describes as an "X-Cab"... at least we think?!

For whatever reason, some don't find the quad-lighted TF trucks as attractive as the tri-year models--at least not in the frontal area. But then there are those who prefer a sleeker, streamlined hindquarters, something a curvaceous Stepside can't offer!

It's always nice to see a `40s-era Willys with some serious horsepower stuffed under the hood--even better when it's a Willys pickup like local Tom Cummings' '42.

Doesn't require much more than a drop and a new set of sneakers to make '55-56 Chevys even cooler than they already are, which Hiram Miller obviously knows. He went a step further with his '55 3100 and dropped an LT1 in it.

Since we're sort of on topic regarding rare sights, how about a full-custom '48 Diamond T? Better yet, how `bout one with a Cummins/Allison drivetrain?!
