2008 Goodguys East Coast Nationals - Koolsville East
It's not every day you come... It's not every day you come across such an evil '48 Chevy in bare metal oozing with hardcore custom character. Jesse Hallett gave his hauler new life with a killer chop, Buick headlights, a Moon tank cut into the grille, and Caddy Dagmars. Merc taillights, a blanket interior, and a bed-mounted fuel tank wrap it all up. | We can never get enough of... We can never get enough of Doug Klett's '37 Dodge with its mint original body, two-deuce-fed 327 V-8, and buried-in-the-weeds stance. Thinking it has 'bags underneath, you'd be wrong, as Doug bravely motors this hauler across New England just as you see it, which is just plain bitchin'! | Dave Thomas' "Big Phatty"... Dave Thomas' "Big Phatty" '63 Chevy C-10 was an eyeful with its psychedelic painted body, making flashbacks to Woodstock easy! Slammed with 'bags, it had loads of attitude as it rolled on vintage Torq-Thrust wheels. | On the custom side of the... On the custom side of the house, Steve Lucklin's '70 Chevy was decadent in black complemented by a red leather bench interior. Power from a built 454 big-block got the message across topped off with a March Performance serpentine system, while Billet Specialties wheels got it rolling. | Nothing sez take me to the... Nothing sez take me to the races better than Noel Clemmer's '47 Ford COE topped with his '31 Ford five-window coupe. The '47 gets plenty of power to haul the race car thanks to a 7.3L Ford diesel, while a '94 Ford ambulance chassis makes sure it can handle the punishment. | Melding classic custom touches... Melding classic custom touches to his '41 Ford, Gilles Bouchard worked his magic. With a salmon body accented by mint green scallops, cool updates include fender skirts, dummy spots, a ribbed bumper, and a pair of classic restored vintage Schwinn cycles. | Bringing just enough effervescence... Bringing just enough effervescence to the mix, Drew and Joanne Van Hook treated their '57 Chevy longbed to a slick combination of orange pearl and the right amount of dazzling chrome to seal the deal. | Looking like it was fresh... Looking like it was fresh from Bonneville ('cuz it actually was!), Charlie and Corene Burns' '57 Ford F-100 used a hopped-up '57 Y-Block linked to a four-speed to earn it a new record on the 3-mile course at 122.828 mph. Now that's a record worth talking about! This California couple holds the record at El Mirage at 118.894 mph as well, and has their eyes on Maxton next. | Patina'd trucks have been... Patina'd trucks have been the rage for a while now, and Dave Wilder's '55 Ford had a great look with its shaved front bumper, frenched antenna, and red steelies with wide whites. | Andy LaFlamme's orange pearl... Andy LaFlamme's orange pearl '48 Chevy was loaded with custom touches, including a healthy chop, extended headlight eyebrows, clean shave, and classic whites with spider caps. | | |
