2008 Goodguys Colorado Nationals - Mile-High Motorin'
Vegas or bust! Phillip Romero... Vegas or bust! Phillip Romero made the trek from Sin City to Northern Colorado for the weekend with his '48 Studebaker. These trucks were pretty far out from the factory, especially when you think about the time they were built. Phillip added a SBC and lowered the lid a bit more on his. | Joe Stephenson hopped behind... Joe Stephenson hopped behind the wheel of his LT1-powered '72 C-10 for some fun in the sun. The yellow and white Chevy was built in a very sanitary fashion and turned into more of a project than Joe intended, but he's not complaining now! | Mark Bosak from Litchfield... Mark Bosak from Litchfield Park, AZ, has been making the rounds this year with his wild '67 GMC. The truck was built by Dean Livermore and his crew at Hot Rods by Dean in Phoenix, AZ, and the 4 1/2-inch top chop, suicide doors, and custom chassis are just the beginning of the laundry list of mods carried out on the Jimmy. | Pinkee's Rod Shop has made... Pinkee's Rod Shop has made quite a name for itself in recent years with all the stunning hot rods it's been building. They also know how to keep it real, as it were, with this suede '40 Ford shop truck. Pinkee's also had a great open house at its shop in nearby Windsor, CO. Don't miss it next year! | Speaking of C-10s, Chris and... Speaking of C-10s, Chris and Jenn Powell had their '72 and '69 Chevys representing a good dose of DIY. Each truck is their daily driver, and Jenn's used to be a longbed; it still retains a four-speed stick. It seems there are more and more people/couples like the Powells out there reading CLASSIC TRUCKS with stories to tell, and it was good to chat with both of them and shoot their trucks. | We all know there aren't a... We all know there aren't a whole lot of "off-brand" trucks out there, so here's a shot of Chris Oden's clean and fairly original '62 International. The pickup still has its stock motor and trans, and even looked like it was wearing its factory two-tone paint job. | While it might be a bit played... While it might be a bit played out these days, black, red, and chrome still go together real nice, as illustrated on Justyce Gurule's '68 C-10. We all know that '67-72 Chevys don't need a whole lot of coaxing to look good, and with a lowered posture, they almost need nothing! | Looking back on it now, it... Looking back on it now, it seems the show in Loveland was a bit Chevy heavy for whatever reason, but thankfully, John Trezise showed up with his '49 Ford! The chopped F-1 is a pretty good exercise in less is more, as they could've gone full-blown custom after lowering the lid, but the truck looks nice with the color choice and whitewalls. | There just aren't enough hours... There just aren't enough hours in the day, and we would've liked to have shot Mike and Shelley Remly's restored '66 C-20. The Custom Camper-optioned truck was looking showroom new. | It's not often that we see... It's not often that we see '55 Chevy or GMC first-series trucks. Owner Mike Carpenter's friend, Jim Malone of Wild West Street Rods in his far-away hometown of Farmington, NM, was responsible for what the five-window looks like today, and Mike couldn't be happier. We can't wait to bring you the full feature. | Glen Bowers was hard to pin... Glen Bowers was hard to pin down since he was having too much fun cruising the Larimer County Fairgrounds in his rare wartime '45 Ford truck. | The '58 and '59 Chevy Apache... The '58 and '59 Chevy Apache trucks often play second fiddle to the Tri-Five models, but John Shepherd's '59 Fleetside was dressed to kill with its unusual yet tasteful red and white paint scheme. |
